Default Helpful Programming site for the non-Programer

Hi Everyone!!

I've just started to learn some really basic HTML coding. In my searches for some help and instruction on getting the basics I ran across this little gem of a website for people looking for code, etc...

http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp

It also has several other Programming languages with tutorials, etc.

Thought I'd share this, cause I've found it pretty handy.

That's a good site. I'm not a programmer, but they have simple, easy to follow tutorials on tons of different things. I remember I was looking up basic php the last time I was there... They also have a ton of other tuturials about graphic design and other things.

Hi Jbolte,
I have checked that site and it’s really great. Along with basic HTML they have many more tutorials, and it is in a simply accessible and very easy format.

Hey Amritacognosy,

Yeah I use this often. I really like the tutorials they have, they really give you some hands-on practice which is how I learn the best. I'm fairly new in IM'ing so I'll be using this site for some time to learn the different languages used, etc.

Take Care,

Jason

jbolte1976, w3schools.com is a great site to use for web programming reference. I am a web developer for a living and I use it once in awhile. Another site you might want to check out is DevGuru Home. I use this site for javascript reference. As you get more into web programming, you will realize javascript is as essential a language to learn as HTML is. I have over ten books in my cubicle and funny thing is I almost never look at them - there really is a lot of information on the web.

For basic html and css coding, I recommend HTML Goodies. ( I am in no way related to their site ) Their tutorials are how I taught myself to create webpages when I was 14. Wow, it took me a minute actually think about how far back that way

And I must say, this is site teaches you the basics thoroughly with some great examples in its editor..It is very good for newbies..
I recommend everyone who want to learn various web designing languages free and in simple way should visit w3schools.com website.

Now, I'm learning the basics of ADO & PHP from this site

Today while surfing I found another interesting websites which teaches us only HTML & CSS
So you need not search the in long list of tutorials for learning HTML & CSS from now
The site is Learn HTML and CSS - Use our free tutorials - Build your own website | HTML.net

What is special about this new site ?
You can learn HTML & CSS in 12 different languages (including English). So that is an added advantage, if somebody doesn't understand or know English then they can learn HTML & CSS in different languages..
Also,we like reading something in our mother tongue(native language) & we understand the it much better

hope this is link will be helpful to many...
